Sophie Peckham from WWF explained that “the funds raised by Raffolux have been essential in this fight. They enable us to continue working on projects around the world.” So far, Raffolux has raised an astounding £17,500. The money raised by our players is unrestricted, which Sophie explained as “essential” to their work as “it enables us to use the money where the need is greatest, ensuring that we are best able to protect our world.”

She explained the significance of the funds and gave examples of projects they could support. “They could help the vital restoration of seagrass meadows around the UK shores. Seagrass absorbs around 35 times more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than rainforests do and provides nurseries, habitats and food sources for many of our sea life, including seahorses and dolphins. Seagrass is vital to the survival of humans and the wildlife around us. It could also support jaguar population monitoring in many of our protected areas.”

There has been a near 70% loss of wildlife since 1970. That is why your donations to WWF have been critical in this race against time. Sophie closed by saying that “we are the first generation to know that we are destroying the world and the last that can do anything about it.”
